Our adult inpatient units provide care and support to adults aged 18-64 who live locally and require an inpatient stay for the assessment and treatment of mental health and addiction needs.
Clinical service overview
Located at The Alfred, we have 56 beds divided between two units called Ground Floor and First Floor.
There are two units on each floor.
One is called the High Dependency Unit (HDU) where people may stay when they are acutely unwell and require a high level of nursing care. The Low Dependency Unit (LDU) has a lower ratio of nursing staff and more communal spaces.
We have multi-disciplinary specialist clinicians that offer a range of treatments and interventions for the treatment of acute, severe mental health issues.

- Eating disorders
- Co-morbid substance use disorders
