Closing the Gap Medicines Access Program
Alfred Health supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living with, or at risk of, chronic disease through the Alfred Health Closing the Gap Medicines Access Program.
Under this program, free or low-cost Discharge or Outpatient medicines will be available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people;
- General (non-concessional) patients presenting an Alfred Health prescription will be charged the current concessional co-payment for each item on the prescription.
- Concessional patients presenting an Alfred Health prescription will not pay a co-payment.
PBS medicines continue to be available at community pharmacies through the National Closing the Gap (CTG) PBS Co-payment Measure.
