Advice on gastro for outpatients and visitors
12 May 2017

Gastro illnesses are particularly common in the community at this time of the year, so it is important visitors wash their hands – or use the hand gel located around the hospital – before and after visiting.
While a number of cases of gastro were recently identified at The Alfred, all the affected patients are doing well and are now out of isolation. Normal ward activity has resumed and there has been no change to outpatient appointments.
If unwell with gastroenteritis symptoms, such as diarrhoea or vomiting, please do not attend or visit hospital until you are better.
You can phone the hospital to reschedule your appointment or call the ward to check with staff before visiting family or friends.
