HeLP at The Alfred

6 October 2015

The Health Legal Partnership, HeLP clinic at The Alfred has been declared a helpful success offering assistance for patients and their families with a wide range of health-related legal matters.

Demand for HeLP continues to grow since the launch of the pilot program in 2014. Based on similar models in the United States and the United Kingdom, the service is available to any hospital patient (and their families) with a health-related legal problem and is in line with Alfred Health’s approach to treating the whole patient through innovative partnerships.

HeLP is an alliance between law firm Maurice Blackburn (which provides legal advice pro bono); the Michael Kirby Centre for Public Health and Human Rights at Monash University; Justice Connect and Alfred Health.
