Neurodiversity and complex mental health
Health professional information
Clinical service overview
Our multidisciplinary team specialises in conditions that are complex and involve the intersection of psychiatry, neurology, medicine and disability, including:
- Emotional, social and behavioural difficulties
- Learning difficulties
- Complex autism spectrum disorders
- Co-occurring mental health and intellectual disabilities
The team works to support the families of children and young people and to prevent secondary psychiatric impairment by means of early detection and management of dual disabilities.

Special referral instructions
Referrals typically come from paediatricians, psychologists, GPs, other allied health and schools. Call the intake worker to discuss a potential referral prior to faxing the referral form. This is to ensure that there is not a delay in treatment if the client is not suitable for the service. If the intake worker accepts the verbal referral, complete the ICYAMHWS referral form and fax to the service.
