Fresh look coming for Alfred Retail precinct
The new Alfred retail improvement project is almost complete.
New food and drink options are now available at The Alfred for staff, patients and visitors.
Long Shot: Monday to Friday, between 6:00am – 8:00pm
Stop 72: Monday to Friday, between 6:00am – 8:00pm
Note: Operating times are currently under review.
The final of the three new food outlets is expected to open in March.
Food and drink options continue to be available from Cafe Alfretti, located on the ground floor of The Alfred Centre.
Cafe Alfretti is open Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 7:00pm and Saturday to Sunday 6:30am – 6:00pm.
A selection of grab-and-go sandwiches and salads, along with snacks, drinks and more are available from the Postmart General Store located in the main hospital.
Vending machines are situated at several locations around the hospital.
Alternative options are also available within walking distance from the hospital on Commercial Road and St Kilda Road.

Coming in 2025, the reimagined main entrance and retail precinct will become a contemporary, light filled, space.
It will also provide an improved experience for patients, visitors and staff to pass through or sit and enjoy.
