Patient information

View Health Professional Information
We work with medical teams in the hospital to provide expert wound management, education and care for patients with complex acute wounds and chronic (greater than 4-6 weeks duration) wounds that are not healing.

What we do

We have a particular interest in pressure injury prevention and management. We work with staff to put in place strategies to stop the development of pressure injuries, as well as how to care for them if they arise.

Who we care for

We work with other services in the hospital to provide specialist advice and care whilst you are in hospital. The teams we work with on a regular basis are:

We do, however, accept referrals from all teams in the hospital.

What to expect

We will see you when you're in the hospital if the team looking after you feels that you need specialised wound care and management.

We are a team of 3 nurse specialists who work across all hospital campuses.

If you require ongoing wound care on discharge, we can recommend the most appropriate service, such as Bolton Clarke or Post Acute Care.

How to access this service

No external referrals accepted

You can only access this service when you are staying in hospital or if you have been referred by an Alfred Health clinician.
