About The Alfred Foundation
The Alfred Foundation creates and nurtures philanthropic partnerships between the community and The Alfred.
Through The Alfred Foundation, individuals, community groups and organisations can contribute to The Alfred's role in saving lives, improving the health of our community, and advancing medical research.
Each year, we receive remarkable support from the community, Trusts, foundations, estates, individuals, corporate partners, and other local and national organisations.
This generosity has enabled us to work together to drive innovation and change at the hospital across a range of projects, such as redeveloping the Emergency & Trauma Centre and building The Alfred Centre.
In 2020, thanks to the generous decision made by Brian Jenkins to include a gift of $500,000 in his Will, The Alfred was able to establish The Jenkins Fellowship for Lymphoma – one of four fellowships in our clinical haematology department dedicated to finding new treatments and therapies for people living with blood disorders.
2020 was one of the most challenging years in The Alfred’s history but the generosity of our wonderful community of Alfred supporters enabled us to adapt and respond quickly to the urgent needs of the health service at this time, meaning we could direct funds where they were most needed and fund critical projects and items of equipment.
