2019 Father’s Day Appeal

We would like to gratefully acknowledge the generosity of the community in supporting The Alfred Father’s Day Appeal.  Every donation made on Friday 30th August was multiplied by four thanks to the pledged gifts of generous supporters including our Presenting Partner Bulla Dairy Foods.  We are excited to announce we exceeded our target of $1m raising $1.2m which is an incredible result. The impact of the Appeal is significant. Funds raised will help us support major areas of the hospital specifically; trauma, cancer care, cardiac care, mental health and preventative health.

The Alfred Father’s Day Appeal has raised more than $9 million to support innovative and lifesaving work at The Alfred.

Since it first launched in 2000 donors to the Alfred Father’s Day Appeal have helped fund significant lifesaving initiatives, including:

• Assisting with the $1.5 million redevelopment of the Burns Unit – which played a key role in treating burns patients admitted following the 2009 Black Saturday bushfires.
• Assisting with funding a 48-bed Cardiac and Thoracic Centre – Victoria’s premier cardiac facility treating the most critical heart patients.
• Improving care for trauma patients by supporting world-leading research and purchasing lifesaving equipment to treat critically ill patients requiring life support.
