Alfred Health Nursing Scholarship Lunch - Advancing Nursing Leadership
Alfred Health has been committed to nursing education since 1871, developing some of the most influential nurses in the country. Our nursing teams engage in innovative approaches to research, leading teams, learning and professional development.
To further support and develop nurses with a passion for improving health care, in 2018 we launched the Alfred Health Nursing Scholarship – Advancing Nursing Leadership with Her Excellency the Honorable, Linda Dessau AC, Governor of Victoria announced as the Patron.
The Alfred Health Nursing Scholarship is an emerging leadership scholarship awarded to an emerging nurse leader in clinical practice, research, education, informatics or management. This scholarship is a great investment in the professional development of our future leaders.
The aim is to advance nursing practice through clinical observation, research, education and leadership experiences, to bring back new ideas and concepts to Nursing at Alfred Health.
A key attribute of any health professional is sound clinical decision making; that is their ability to assess and apply evidence in their clinical practice. To achieve the best patient and family outcomes in health care, nurses need to understand and apply knowledge, as well as share and disseminate learnings across the organisation and disciplines.
The Alfred Health Nursing scholarship, Advancing Nursing Leadership, is proudly provided from funds raised at an annual luncheon organised by dedicated volunteers. We have awarded the Alfred Health Nursing Scholarship – Advancing Nursing Leadership for 2021
