Acquired Brain Injury Service
Enhancing quality of life and patient outcomes
The Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) service provides specialist care and services to people with a moderate to severe brain injury, and their carers from the Victorian community.
Victoria’s first purpose-built centre of excellence for brain injury rehabilitation opened at Caulfield Hospital in September 2014.
The $36m Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Rehabilitation Centre expands an already developed sector of services for people living with acquired brain injury – and heralds a new era of specialist care for patients with acquired brain injury. The centre features a 42-bed inpatient rehabilitation service, four-bed transitional living service, and an ABI community rehabilitation service.
