Life Support

Life Support was formed in 2003 to help The Alfred minimise the devastating impact of trauma. Born from the tragedy of the 2002 Bali Bombings, since its inception, Life Support has generated over $2 million for the purchase of life saving equipment.

The Alfred is Victoria’s busiest trauma centre. The Life Support Committee supports the hospital to continue to provide vital health, trauma and critical care services to our patients. The funds raised have helped to treat countless emergency and trauma patients who find themselves requiring the expert care available at The Alfred.

Working together, the committee host a number of events throughout the year and specifically fundraise for the purchase of vital medical equipment to assist in the critical care of patients at The Alfred. They work tirelessly as advocates for the hospital throughout the community by helping to raise awareness of the need to provide state of the art equipment to improve the outcomes for trauma patients which gives them the best possible chance to return to the life that was taken away from them in a split second.
