Dr Philippa Hawkings

MBChB, MHM, FRACMA — Director of Medical Services

Dr Philippa Hawkings is Director of Medical Services Alfred Health. Dr Hawkings, who prefers to be known as Pip, comes to us from Traralgon where she has been the Chief Medical Officer at Latrobe Regional Hospital for the past 18 months and prior to that, the Deputy Chief Medical Officer there for 12 months.

Originally from the UK, Pip’s under-graduate medical degree is from the University of Manchester. She also holds a Masters of Health Management from the University of NSW as well as the Fellowship of the RoyalAustralasian College of Medical Administrators (2016).

She moved from England to Western Australia in 2007 and worked for four years as a registrar in emergency medicine and diving/hyperbaric medicine before commencing medical administration training. In 2014 she was part of the commissioning team for the Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) and in 2015 worked as the Acting Deputy Director of Clinical Services for FSH.

Pip has experience in both metro and rural settings. In 2017, she relocated to Victoria to take up her initial role at Latrobe Regional Hospital.
