Fresh look coming for Alfred Retail precinct
An exciting Alfred Retail Improvement Project is now underway.
Temporary Café details
Due to works on the new Retail Precinct, Alf’s Café will close from Sunday 30 June.
While works are underway, on-site food and drink options will continue to be available from Alfretti’s, located on the ground floor of The Alfred Centre.
Alfretti’s will be open for extended hours: Monday to Friday 6am – 7.30pm and Saturday to Sunday 6.30am – 7pm.
Food and drink is also available at the hospital’s Post Office Mini-Mart.
Details on additional temporary on-site café arrangements coming in August will be announced shortly.
Alternative options are also available within walking distance from the hospital on Commercial Road and St Kilda Road.

Coming in 2024, the reimagined main entrance and retail precinct will become a contemporary, light filled, space.
It will also provide an improved experience for patients, visitors and staff to pass through or sit and enjoy.

- A modernised retail environment
- More indoor and outdoor seating
