Audit Committee
The Audit Committee assists the Board to fulfil its statutory and fiduciary duties relating to the financial management of Alfred Health with respect to internal controls, accounting and reporting practices.
It aims to ensure that those duties are carried out in accordance with the Act, the Financial Management Compliance Framework, the Risk Management Framework and any other relevant legislation. This committee is responsible for overseeing the internal audit function and developing and reviewing the Alfred Health Internal Audit Plan. Also, it is responsible for:
- Overseeing the maintenance of an effective system of internal monitoring and control of data integrity risk management
- Reviewing the implications of external audit findings for internal controls
- Reviewing the annual accounts for recommendation to the Board.

Dr Abhishek Verma is an experienced clinician and non-executive director in the healthcare sector, with substantial experience in clinical governance and medical regulation. In addition to maintaining a number of portfolio board roles, Dr Verma remains active in clinical practice, and in 2022 he received the Victorian GP of the Year Award as well as the Australian GP of the Year Award.

Ms Sally Campbell brings extensive executive commercial and public sector experience to Alfred Health Board that has been earned in a wide range of organisations in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Ms Chloe Shorten is an author, company director and communications specialist with a focus on public health and family wellbeing. Chloe brings significant commercial and strategic experience in reputational risk management and governance excellence.

Ms Diana Heggie has extensive executive and non-executive experience and prior Directorship Peninsula Health.

Mr Lynton Norris is a consultant and experienced company director. He is a recognised leader in funding and payment models, policy development and review, performance assessment and reporting, and complex data analysis and analytics.
