Mr Tony Phillips

Tony Phillips was appointed Chief Marketing Officer at News Corp Australia in June 2016; responsible for News Corp Australia’s national marketing initiatives.

Tony plays a key role in the development and launch of new products and brands across our print and digital assets.

Mr Phillips has many years experience in media and marketing, including CMO Woolworths Ltd and General Manager Marketing Communications Coles where he was responsible for engaging Curtis Stones as the face of fresh food, legendary rock band Status Quo with the Down Down Big Red Guitars, sponsorship integration with both MasterChef and My Kitchen Rules and tactical promotions including Sports For School with Kathy Freeman and trade driving programs including an exclusive partnership with One Direction.

Prior to this Tony was Managing Director of advertising agency George Patterson Bates Melbourne with a client list including NAB, Carlton and United, Myer and the AFL.

His passion is innovation and creativity to build stronger customer engagement and is privileged to be empowering the iconic brands within the News Corp’s stable.
