Quality and People Culture Committee
The Quality and People Culture Committee was established to ensure that effective and accountable systems are in place to monitor and improve the quality and effectiveness of health services.
This involves making certain that:
- Any systemic problems identified with the quality and effectiveness of health services are addressed
- Continuous improvement and innovation are fostered within Alfred Health.
Prof Christina Mitchell is Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences at Monash University having trained as a physician scientist specialising in clinical haematology.
Dr Abhishek Verma is an experienced clinician and non-executive director in the healthcare sector, with substantial experience in clinical governance and medical regulation. In addition to maintaining a number of portfolio board roles, Dr Verma remains active in clinical practice, and in 2022 he received the Victorian GP of the Year Award as well as the Australian GP of the Year Award.
Tony Keenan has held many leadership positions including in local government, the community sector and has served in a wide range of advisory roles for governments.
The Hon Martin Foley as an experienced Minister for Health and Minister for Mental Health brings an understanding of the community operations of the Health system.
Ms Chloe Shorten is a national advocate for the rights of children and young people. She has been committed to improving the lives of women, children and people with disabilities through her 30-year involvement with not-for-profit organisations, particularly those in research.
