SPEAK Project Evaluation Surveys & Interviews (Stage 1): Summary of Findings
This report presents the findings from Stage 1 of the SPEAK Project evaluation, which included surveys and interviews with people with disability, their support people, and healthcare workers at Alfred Health and South-West Healthcare. The findings highlighted the need to treat people with disability with respect and dignity, provide staff education, promote the Disability Liaison Officer service, and improve disability data capture and feedback systems.
SPEAK Project Medical Record (File) Audit (Stage 1): Summary of Findings
This report looks at how well hospitals support patients with disability, based on a review of 30 medical records from Alfred Health and South West Healthcare. The results of this audit highlight both areas for improvement and commendable aspects of health service documentation about individuals with disability.
