Wellbeing and Peer Support
Peer Support
Alfred Health values the wellbeing of staff and is committed to providing confidential support via the Peer Support Program. The program provides peer support by fellow staff members who have volunteered, been selected, and trained in Psychological First Aid and is available to all staff.
Peer Support can be helpful when you’re facing challenges in your role, at work or even personally.
Peer Supporters provide confidential support, offering suggestions and linking to other supports available, if needed.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
EAP is a confidential counselling, coaching and wellbeing support service that is available to all staff and their families at no cost. Our program is available to support you with both professional and personal challenges and can be accessed via the Gateway app, phone, live chat or telehealth.
Our EAP also delivers online InFocus seminars throughout the year providing all staff the opportunity to gain insights and strategies for improved wellbeing.
Schwartz Rounds
Are multidisciplinary forums for healthcare staff to reflect on the emotional and social challenges of their work. The idea is to support clinicians to reflect on their roles, process the emotions experienced, build stronger connections with peers and foster greater compassion for patients and colleagues.
These forums are held in-person and online with speakers from across disciplines and programs including inpatient and community teams.
