Course overview
Traumatic injury is a significant public health burden with increasing prevalence worldwide. All hospitals have a role to play in providing the highest standard of timely care to people affected by injury. The emphasis of this program is the initial reception and resuscitation of seriously injured people.
Program content will focus on a systematic approach to patient assessment and management using the primary survey approach to trauma care. Interventional skills and knowledge will be explored using evidenced-based recommendations and participants will be given the opportunity to practice these skills in hands-on workshops scheduled as part of this program.
On completion of this course, delegates will receive certification from the Emergency & Trauma Centre, Alfred Health. This certificate will indicate a total number of continuing professional development hours completed (7.5 CPD hours). Organisations may choose to recognise this certification for internal credentialing purposes.
