Dr Liesl Butler
Liesl graduated from Monash University in 2010. After completing haematology training at St. Vincent’s Health, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Melbourne Health, Melbourne Pathology and Western Health, she attained dual fellowships with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and the Royal College of Pathologists Australasia (FRCPA) in 2018/2019.
Liesl has a strong interest in molecular pathology, a discipline which examines the genetic origins of disease. She is also passionate about the myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs). She is currently undertaking translational research in these areas and commenced a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the Australian Centre for Blood Diseases in 2019. Liesl has been employed at Alfred Health since 2020 and treats patients with MPNs, including those on clinical trials.
