Prof Andrew Perkins
Professor of Haematology at The Alfred Hospital and the Australian Centre for Blood Diseases (ACBD) within the Central Clinical School of Monash University
Professor Perkins undertook his PhD in genetics at The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research in Melbourne and post-doctoral studies at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard University. He is an expert in genetics and treatment of chronic blood cancers and inherited red blood cell diseases. He is currently the PI on 7 trials in myelofibrosis in Australia.
Professor Perkins was recently appointed as Head of Genomic Medicine (Molecular Pathology) at the Alfred Hospital. The role is to provide an accurate diagnosis and personalized treatment advice for patients with inherited and acquired genetic diseases.
