Alfred Health recognised for excellence in healthcare
Alfred Health was named Premier’s Large Public Health Service of the Year at the Victorian Public Healthcare Awards on Thursday night.
Alfred Health’s Chief Executive Andrew Way says it’s an acknowledgment of the dedication staff have to the care of all Victorians.
“We are proud to be recognised for our commitment to patient care and for our research and innovation to achieve better health outcomes,” Professor Way said.
This year, the category was jointly awarded to us and our friends at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
The award was presented by the Parliamentary Secretary for Medical Research, Frank McGuire.
Alfred Health also had seven initiatives recognised as finalists in the category awards. Two were highly commended, including a clinical trial to improve outcomes for critically ill patients in ICU, and an initiative to optimise the use of pain medication in a safer way for patients.
