Australia votes ‘yes’
15 November 2017

The Alfred staff show their support
The results of the marriage equality postal survey were announced earlier today, with nearly 62 per cent of eligible Australians – more than seven million people – voting for change.
The success of the 'yes' vote is a positive result for many staff, for our patients, and the wider LGBTIQA+ community.
We understand that in coming weeks the Federal Government will move to amend the Marriage Act. While politicians debate and discuss, and a range of views are heard, we will continue to offer assistance to those who need support.
