We want to say a huge thank you to our community for the overwhelming and generous response we’ve had to our psychiatry WardRobe project.

Update: We'd like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who reached out, donated and supported our Psychiatry WardRobe project. We've received overwhelming support from our community and staff have been busy sorting clothing donations which will well and truly see us through the coming months. For now, we are unable to accept any further donations - but as the WardRobe is a permanent feature in our unit, we will post an update as soon as we have capacity to accept more donations of your pre-loved clothing.

Due to current restrictions, we are currently only accept donations via the donation bin located in the reception of our psychiatry unit.

We are unable to accept postage of donations, and do not have alternate donation drop off points at this time. If you are outside the 5km zone or cannot get to us please note will be accepting donations to the WardRobe project ongoing and would love to accept these in the future.

We greatly appreciate all the offers to donate and many of you have asked what can benefit our patients the most. Donations of pre-loved adult-sized clothing in good, clean and wearable condition in all sizes is needed.

We welcome donations of:

  • Shirts and t-shirts
  • Jackets, jumpers and cardigans
  • Pants
  • Shoes - we can only accept new shoes.
  • Undergarments - for hygiene purposes we can only accept new undergarments.

We are unable to accept:

  • Stained clothing / broken zippers
  • Revealing clothing or clothing with offensive slogans
  • Children’s clothing
  • Bedding / Manchester
  • Jewellery and make-up

To donate to the WardRobe Project place clothing in the donation bin located in our psychiatry unit reception. Enter Alfred Centre Lane via Gate 3 at The Alfred, and you’ll find our building opposite the visitor's car park.
