New collaboration for maternity services
Maternity, newborn and gynaecology services at Sandringham Hospital are now provided by Monash Health.
Sandringham Hospital Director of Nursing Sharon Hade said the change follows a successful ten-year collaboration with The Royal Women’s Hospital delivering exceptional care to women and families living in Sandringham and surrounding areas.
“We thank our friends at the Women’s for their partnership, and support of our community over the past decade,” Ms Hade said. “Now, that same team will continue to build on the service as part of Monash Health.”
“With the recent expansion of our emergency department, investment into increasing surgical activity, and funding to refurbish our outpatient clinic and main entrance, Sandringham Hospital is positioned to offer greater access to care for patients across Bayside and beyond than ever before.”
Monash Health Women’s and Newborn Program General Manager Andrea Rindt said the women’s and newborn team at Sandringham will continue to provide a safe, high quality, community-focused service.
“This change builds on the many successful existing partnerships between Alfred Health and Monash Health to provide better health outcomes for communities in south-east Melbourne.”
