There are strict systems and processes already in place to log all staff access to the health hotel and complex care hotel, Alfred Health Chief Operating Officer, Simone Alexander said.

These measures include the use of an app as part of the entry point screening, paper-based logging, and use of QR codes to monitor staff movement on the premises – including tea rooms and other breakout spaces.

"Each of these initiatives has and will continue to support our infection prevention team in undertaking timely contact tracing whenever required," Ms Alexander said.

Staff from our hotel services program met with CQV earlier this week for a first-look and introduction to the newly developed SafeWorks QR code system.

“We remain in active discussion with CQV regarding this system and, if it meets our needs and has merit, we would certainly consider introducing it to the range of tools we already have in place to further protect staff, residents and the community.

"We have confidence in our systems and in our people as we continue to keep our community safe from COVID-19 through the hotel services program," Ms Alexander said.
