External applicants

For research conducted at Alfred Health, there must be an Alfred Health Site Principal Investigator:

  • For medical practitioner researchers, the Site Principal Investigator should be a member of the senior medical staff appointed to Alfred Health (either salaried or honorary) and with a regular on-site presence (defined as conducting a regular clinic) at one or more Alfred Health campuses. A practitioner with a locum position cannot be Site Principal Investigator.
  • For nursing researchers, the Site Principal Investigator should be an appointed Alfred Health Research Nursing Fellow.
  • For allied health researchers, the Site Principal Investigator should be a senior Alfred Health Allied Health practitioner.  
  • For all other disciplines, the Site Principal Investigator needs to be a senior staff member.
