A/Prof Ingrid Hopper is a consultant physician at The Alfred specialising in the holistic care of complex, older patients with heart failure. She consults at the Alfred Heart Centre and in General Medicine at Alfred and Sandringham Hospitals.
She is a clinician researcher at Alfred Health and Monash University, and her work in heart failure, medicines and medical device safety have contributed to advancements in patients care and patient safety.
She holds a Fellowship in Clinical Pharmacology from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. She undertook her PhD in heart failure therapeutics, and post-doctoral studies in clinical quality registries for high risk implantable medical devices, both supported by the NHMRC.
She is actively involved in clinical research, national prescribing guidelines and sits on the TGA Advisory Committee for Medicines. She mentors physician trainees at Alfred Health and teaches clinical pharmacology at Fiji National University.
