Orthotics
Patient information
We provide external supports and assistive devices to disabled and/or injured people for the treatment of disease, trauma or congenital disorders.
What we do
The Alfred Orthotic Department consists of clinicians and allied health assistants who are responsible for a clinical assessment and evaluation leading to the custom designing, development and fitting of an Orthosis.
Orthotists have very close links to the surgical and medical units within the Alfred, including areas such as Trauma, Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, Plastics and Rheumatology. Our expertise ranges from those requiring custom foot orthoses, custom spinal orthoses and knee braces.
We also work closely with Prosthetics Caulfield Hospital.
