Fundamentals of Clinical Pharmacy Practice Course
The Fundamentals of Clinical Pharmacy Practice Course is designed to facilitate a pharmacist’s transition into hospital pharmacy practice. The course aims to assist the learner’s development in the essential core clinical pharmacy skills and fundamental clinical knowledge.

Alfred Health’s team of specialised Emergency Medicine (EM) pharmacists are practicing at the forefront of their field, by developing and delivering numerous well-established and evidence-based extended scope practices for clinical pharmacists.
The Fundamentals of Contemporary Emergency Medicine Pharmacy has been developed by expert Emergency Medicine pharmacists and physicians. The course is designed to provide learners with fundamental knowledge and core skills in the management of critically ill and injured patients in the ED.
The Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Practice Placement extension course provides learners with the opportunity to further extend their scope of practice in the areas of stroke and sepsis call outs.

The Fundamentals of Intensive Care Pharmacy course has been developed by expert ICU clinicians and pharmacist educators to provide learners with fundamental skills and knowledge in core ICU topics. The course is designed for those who have less than 6 months of ICU experience, or who are wanting a refresher on the foundations of intensive care pharmacy practice.

Alfred Health Pharmacy, in partnership with the Society of Hospital Pharmacists Australia (SHPA), has launched the National PPMC Credential program. PPMC is an innovative model of care which sees appropriately credentialed pharmacists work collaboratively with authorised prescribers to undertake a medication review and chart medications for nursing staff to administer. This model has been shown to reduce medication errors, length of hospital stay and hospital costs.

The Pharmaceutical Industry Education Program provides a unique experience whereby teams with a range of experience and responsibilities in medication innovation, optimisation, delivery, and/or sales can undergo a program specifically designed and delivered by our Senior Pharmacy Leadership, Pharmacy Executive, Workforce and Learning & Development teams.
The program is divided into two education programs:
