Dr Wenyuan Liu
Dr Wenyuan Liu is a consultant dermatologist at the Victorian Melanoma Service. She has been affiliated with the service since 2003 taking part in both clinical research and patient care.
Completed in 2005, her PhD focused on the clinical, pathological and molecular features of biologically aggressive primary melanoma.
Dr Liu established the first collaborative database in Melbourne correlating the clinical and molecular profiles of primary melanomas and was one of the first researchers in Melbourne to investigate BRAF mutation.
Dr Liu’s continued clinical interest lies in the early detection and management of both melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer. She is also a visiting dermatologist at the Monash Medical centre and is in private practice.
