Biochemistry/Chemical Pathology Registrar
This position is suitable for accreditation for training with the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia. Applicants are advised to contact Pathology prior to application.
This position involves training in chemical pathology including routine biochemistry and endocrine testing, protein and drug testing, including immunosuppressive drugs and toxicology, specialised testing for heavy metals and clinical follow up of patients with particular abnormal test results.
Management aspects (including quality assurance and OHS) of chemical pathology and relevant aspects of information technology are also included. The position has an important role in the clinical liaison of the laboratory and will contribute to staff education and evaluation of new tests. An active interest in research is encouraged and supported.
The position is suitable for those training in the joint training program of the RACP/RCPA Chemical Pathology/Endocrinology or the RCPA Chemical Pathology program.
Applicants must be legally qualified medical practitioners, registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
