Emergency Medicine Theory & Practice

Gain knowledge, skills and experience in Emergency Medicine, with access to a highly experienced faculty of emergency and trauma clinicians in a major tertiary hospital setting. This 12-week online course provides a practical opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge and skills required of an advanced emergency medicine practitioner. This unit can be completed as part of a Master’s program, or as a standalone certificate course.

This course/unit provides a practical opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge and skills required of an advanced emergency medicine practitioner.
Some of the topics covered include:
- Resuscitation
- Critical Care
- Trauma
Students will be required to complete online studies over a twelve week program and to attend a five-day intensive.
Who should attend?
This course is relevant to CMOs, General Practitioners, Emergency Medicine trainees and clinicians (suggested PGY3 or equivalent onwards) and clinicians responsible for emergency care in rural and remote settings.
Eligibility
- MBBS
- Registration with MBA or relevant equivalent international body.
- A minimum of two years equivalent full-time experience in the cognate discipline.
- Evidence of current clinical experience in the field of Emergency Medicine (suggested 0.5FTE minimum) with supervision from a Fellow of a recognised Australian Specialist Training College.
