Setting technical standards in walking tests
Associate Professor Anne Holland led an international Task Force to develop a new technical standard for field walking tests in chronic respiratory disease, on behalf of the American Thoracic Society and European Respiratory Society.
The new technical standard, which is underpinned by a companion systematic review, defines best practice in the conduct and interpretation of field walking tests based on current evidence. Published in the European Respiratory Journal, the new standards will have implications for the conduct of field walking tests internationally, in research and clinical practice.
